Description:

Sandstone is usually reddish –brown, white, yellowish, grayish, green, or even cream. The hardness of sandstone is 4.5.The streak is red and the luster is 0.7.The specific gravity is 2.40.
 

How it was formed:

Sandstone was only sand and pebbles many years ago. Then, after a few years the pebbles and sand started to come together by wind and water, or by minerals such as quartz or feldspar, or older rocks held together by one of several types of cement.
 

Uses:

Sandstone is used for many different things; for example it is used in construction and even in the subject of collecting. In construction it is used for paving, landscaping, flooring, building some buildings. Sandstone is also used in industry.
 

Dangers

 Sandstone has no dangers that scientists have detected. That’s why some buildings are made from sandstone.
 

Newfoundland/Canadian Connection:

Sandstone has never been found in Newfoundland but it is found in some parts of Canada. These parts of Canada are unknown.
 

Where it is found:

 Sandstone can basically be found places where there is a lot of wind and water and there is sand, such as a beach, or even a desert.
 

Conclusion:

Sandstone is a very interesting mineral, it is very interesting because it used for many different things. We found sandstone very fascinating when we studied it.
